The painting is the depiction of transforming any moment that is apparently banal into an unique, unusual and exceptional experience. One can take "going to a picnic" and mould and change it into a ceremony to which even the pets will participate, but, ultimately, anyone can. The duality of pets really suggests that we do not have to obey strict rules and we have the ability to choose something different.
